About the program

From covering fine decorating and finishing skills to large quantity production techniques, the Baking Skills (Online) course from Centennial College will make you work-ready upon graduation. To further increase your employability, you’ll leave the Baking Skills program with important industry certifications such as Smart Serve, Safe Food Handlers and CPR.

The commercial baking sector is one of the most expansive and dynamic industries in the world, with limitless career opportunities.

This program has been developed to deliver the same outcomes as our Baking Skills program, without the need to physically attend school on campus. 

Students will still be expected to participate in regular online activities and attend live virtual classes with the same faculty who teach our in-person programs. Students will be provided with a list of small wares and simple tools to purchase prior to each semester, in order to complete the practical exercises and assignments and demonstrate the learning outcomes of the program. In addition, students will need access to a stable internet connection, a handheld electronic device such as a smartphone or digital camera to record their work, access to a basic kitchen with a stove and oven, a tabletop mixer, whip/whisk, paddle, and dough hook attachments.
